The 26th “Railway Day” Kanto Executive Committee (committee members: Kanto District Transport Bureau, Yokohama City, Kanto region railway operators, Kanto Railway Association, Kanto Cableway Association) will hold the “Railway Day” commemorative event “YOKOHAMA Train Festival 2019” to promote a deeper understanding and familiarity with railways. Admission is free.　

 

　A stage will be set up at the first venue, Yokohama Shintoshi Plaza, where various awards and performances will be held. At the second venue, the special venue at Yokohama Porta, a merchandise sale will be held by Kanto railway companies. In addition, original goods will be given away to participants in the panel quiz rally (first 1,200 people each day).

*To commemorate the opening of the first railway line in Japan between Shinbashi and Yokohama (present-day Sakuragicho Station) on October 14, 1872 (Meiji 5), October 14 was designated as “Railway Day” in 1994.
